Flowers For Zoë

I was thrilled this morning when I saw pix of Zoë Kravitz on the July cover of British Vogue. The colour clashing orange and hot pink always go hand in hand and scream summer. It's been a BIG month for Zoë as season 2 of Big Little Lies dropped - which she stars in along side Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman & Meryl Streep (!!!) - and rumour has it she married her beau, Karl Glusman. As you guys know, I have adored Zoë for time and was once lucky enough to see her band Lola Wolf at the Sebright Arms in London - it was her birthday and the crowd were electric!

The issue hits newsstands this Friday, which just so happens to be the day we touch down in London. I have to say, I am loving the fresh direction Edward Enninful is taking British Vogue, each time a cover drops there's such a hype. I'm still dreaming of the day Meghan Markle will grace the cover, I live in hope!

Again - as a mega polka dot enthusiast, this look is giving me LIFE!

A Kiss On The Hand May Be Quite Continental

Today marks Marilyn Monroe's birthday and I'll take any excuse to celebrate the vibrant life of America's sweetheart. From her platinum blonde hair and pencilled mole, to her breathless voice, everything about Marilyn was iconic. Drew Barrymore's IG post this morning, gushing about the magnanimous icon says it all:

"Men love complicated women. Women love complicated women. But being inside that complexity is a private world no one can understand. So we watch and gaze wondering what it's like in that space only the greats can understand. I myself have stared at her my whole life wondering how one woman could have all that fire and vulnerability? She would have been 93 today. Somewhere she is."

Gentlemen Prefer Blondes has to be my favourite Monroe flick, especially the hilarious scene where she gets stuck in a porthole!

My absolute favourite shot of Marilyn.

In Mississauga (greater Toronto) there are two iconic twin towers which are locally known as the Marilyn Monroe towers thanks to their unique hourglass shape:

My partner's cousin actually lives in one and my soon to be brother-in-law proposed there recently - it was ever so romantic! We were in charge of flowers, balloons and cake:

What's your fave Marilyn moment?
