MY MOTHER IS AN ARTIST
For as long as I can remember, my mum has always painted. I remember over the years growing up in very colourful houses; green TV's, yellow fridges, blue front doors... About six months ago, she decided to turn her lifelong hobby into a business, and so Bliss by Karen x was born. My mum collects vintage, well loved pieces of furniture and upcycles them into quirky, vibrant statement pieces! For the first few months, my mums 'workshop' was our kitchen but as the business grew slowly, slowly she managed to secure a nearby studio - although there's still eminent specks of paint on our toaster and kettle...
Last week after weeks (and weeks) of organising, we finally had our big launch party! The night was full of music, drinks, good energy and laughter! Here's a shot of the shabby chic venue... the calm before the storm!

It seems like everyone's positive vibes worked in abundance, as a few days later a local business in Macclesfield called DMJ Vintage picked up my mums first collection! If you find yourself nearby, pop in and let us know what you think! Here's a glimpse of what you may find...
I'm so proud of my mum for following her bliss and of her "I can do all things through him who strengthens me" attitude. I asked my mum if she wanted to add anything to my post, a quote or final thought; she simply said "tell your readers to follow their bliss... if you've been waiting for a sign, this is it! Go, do, be..."
