I Had Your Love, I Had It All

Happy birthday to the Queen.

I've just spent 9 1/2 minutes spellbound watching this. It's a Monday afternoon. This explains a lot.

Fashion A/W 15 MIL PAR (turn to the right)

Hello Petals!

I know this post is substantially late, but the last two weeks have been a hectic blur. I was so happy with the feedback I got from my last fashion week post that I couldn't possibly skip Milan and Paris - it would be criminal. Better late than never, right?!

MILAN

First up is Dolce & Gabbana's beautiful show that celebrated motherhood and according to Vogue, included Spice Girl's Mama on its playlist! It was so refreshing to see the catwalk brimming with mothers, babies and buns in ovens. The endearing invites were adorable too! It's true what they say, Italian men are infatuated with their mammas...

Stella Jean is a designer I'd never heard of before MFW. I've done a little research and discovered that she is a Haitian-Italian model turned designer and is COSMIC! Feast your eyes on her colourful cutting edge collection...

The intricate details are sublime!

I was fascinated with the concept behind Alberta Ferretti gothic collection - I can just imagine Mina Harker wearing these pieces...

On the whole, I loved Alessandro Michele's début collection for Gucci - especially this ruffle red number...

I'm really digging swallows at the moment -
I love the nautical history behind them!

I think I'll be raiding Paperchase's rainbow ribbon section in the foreseeable future...

Milan fashion week saw Peter Dundas' final collection for Emilio Puccinoooooo! At least he finished with a bang...

This season, it was astrology and the powers the signs behold that triggered his creativity in what he calls the Zodiac collection. Symbols for Aries, Libra, Sagittarius and Scorpio were embroidered in gold and scattered over the velvet blazers, dramatic capes and hot pants. - Vogue

On a side note, I've been dying to get my mitts on these lemon and rose Emilio Pucci macaroons from Laduree...

Let's take a moment to fawn over Valentino's pre-fall collection.
CALLING ALL LEPIDOPTERISTS & FLOWER CHILDREN...

Marco de Vincenzo was hit and miss for me, although I thought the rainbow pieces and gelato coat were super kawaii...

*Update: How radiant does Queen B look?!*

I LOVED the old school Hollywood pizazz of Luisa Beccaria's collection:
I can see ethereal, edgy and chic women like Diane Kruger, Dita Von Teese or anyone from a Tarantino movie wearing these designs!

And finally, the piece de resistance: Missoni! I livestreamed the show and was not disappointed. Although the star of the show had to be the Missoni family's iconic English bulldog Johnny waddling around!

PARIS

Jacquemus' show was mesmerising - the barefoot models, evident 'free the nipple' stance and intricate geometric designs were interesting to say the least! Berlin based artist Sebastian Bieniek also scrawled his distinctive double face motif across the models faces...
I'll be bookmarking this for October 31st!

Esteban Cortazar is a Columbian designer I only heard of recently - his distinctive collection embodied the idea of thinking outside the box in terms of the cut of the fabrics and offbeat colour schemes...

HOW HAVE I ONLY JUST HEARD OF UKRAINIAN DESIGNER NATASHA ZINKO?!

Mira, Mira, quite contrary, How does your garden grow?

I was also pleasantly surprised with John Galliano's collection - there's something so magical about colour clashing purple with red, I'm also fond of the quirky fish embroidery...

I can't help but link red/purple with Jenny Joseph's marvellous poem Warning

When I am an old woman I shall wear purple.
With a red hat which doesn't go, and doesn't suit me.

I can definitely see myself being a fruitcake in my later years, spending my pension on brandy and joining the red hat society!

Serious Cruella De Vil vibes at Emanuel Ungaro...

As always, Chanel's production was in a league of its own!

If there's one show I could've attended in Paris though - my invite must have got lost in the post - it would've been Chloé's dreamy spectacular...

Fittingly dedicated to International Women's Day, Chloe's latest collection celebrated the worldliness and femininity of its free-spirited girls. Fleetwood Mac provided the soundtrack - securing Stevie Nick's place as official style icon for AW15 - Dazed

Honourable mention goes to Alice Temperley's whimsical showroom...

& Vionnet's sensational collection...

If you read my NY/LDN post, you'll know about my adoration for Proenza Schouler... how peculiar/brilliant is 'Legs Are Not Doors' by Harley Weir?!

I can finally spell Proenza Schouler off by heart, do I get a medal?
