Snowed In

Since I arrived in Canada I've known that early spring we'd be moving from one GTA house to another. Although living out of boxes and the process of renovating / open houses / staging / buying etc hasn't been a piece of cake, it has been super duper rewarding. We move at the end of the week and I am buzzing!

 We're relocating to a more residential neighbourhood and bigger house to accommodate our growing family (I'm referring to our 3 recently adopted kittens lol) & ofc I CAN'T WAIT to start decorating!

This reminds me of Galliano's first Givenchy Haute Couture show back in 96 and his iconic Princess and the Pea set design. As the curtains drew they revealed two models, sitting on around 40 stacked mattresses, wearing crinolines that cascaded all the way to the ground. How magnificent:

My brother has a bee door knocker back home in Manchester and I love the idea of also having one proudly on ours here in Toronto to match <3 This one is by the door knocker company ~ I also adore their dragonfly knocker as they're my father's absolute fave <3

MTV Cribs is also ace for interior design ideas. Some of the most memorable episodes imo were Destiny's Child, Melissa Joan Hart, Mariah Carey and ofc Naomi Campbell. Watching fetus Destiny's Child is so adorable esp when they randomly start harmonizing & lol @ when they mention Michelle doesn't actually live there but never say why??? The shade of it all!

 I love how Melissa expresses her unapologetically zany sense of humour such as her hallway full of Shirley Temple artwork, her dalmatian named Haleakala after the Hawaiian National Park in Maui and her surprisingly impressive shot glass collection. She even bought the entire cast and crew of Sabrina personalised shot glasses when they wrapped filming.

Today is the inimitable Diana Ross' birthday and to mark the occasion Los Angeles has officially claimed today as DIANA ROSS DAY. The only bonkers thing about this is that it has taken 75 years to occur!

I spotted pix of Dua Lipa going through JFK customs and am digging her laidback Luke vibes. Passport - check! Oversized bucket hat - check! Yellow bead bag - check! Slime green palazzo pants - check! OFF-WHITE c/o Virgil Abloh transparent suitcase - CHECK!

Although some ppl think oversized hats are a bit extra, I think they're missing the point. Dolly Parton once said the higher the hair, the closer to God. Works for hats too, right?

Cult beauty brand, Glossier, have recently launched their latest balm dotcom shade and I am super duper giddy to try it! Meet MANGO balm dotcom, straight outta my dreams. I've actually been drinking copious amounts of Frooti lately, as it's easily accessible. If you've never heard of it, I implore you to try this divine mango juice - Alia Bhatt ain't lying! 

This shade leaves a dreamy coral tint which sounds ideal as S/S is FINALLY reaching us here in Canada!

I Only Love My Bed And My Mama

It's mother's day back in the UK next Sunday and I'm feeling all the feels. Canadian mother's day isn't until May so luckily there isn't much of a faff about it otherwise I'd be tearing up every time I'm in Walmart. Pain is the price you pay for love my mum has always told me, all these years later I finally get it. If you haven't already, I implore you to book an afternoon tea for you & ur mum, pick a bunch of her favourite flowers, create a chronological photo album of ur baby photos or simply go on a walk in the countryside. She's the one!

I saw a meme recently that made me a giggle, it went: mother's day is hard when ur mum deserves an island but all you can afford is a yankee candle. Basically!
