Bibbidi-Bobbidi Bits & Bobs #5

Good evening Petals!

I was reading Harper's Bazaar last week and spotted this. In celebration of Lululemon opening a new store, tomorrow night a complimentary yoga class will be held at The Saatchi Gallery. If I wasn't still in Manchester, I'd be there in the blink of an eye. The only thing is it's first come first serve... handbags yoga mats at dawn!

I've been absolutely loving the recent rise of timeless icons in campaigns: Joan for Céline (80), Joni (71) for Yves Saint Laurent and Iris (93) for Alexis Bittar! There's something so refreshing and inspiring about seeing brands turn to timeless and eccentric women, rather than stick their supermodels with unattainable figures. I'm hoping Bianca Jagger will pop up soon!

First there was Joan Didion, one of my favourite writers - if you've never read any of her work, start with Slouching Towards Bethlehem (trust me)! The campaign was shot by Juergen Teller, who you all know by now I worship!

THEN JONI BLOODY MITCHELL! Hedi Slimane can do no wrong in my eyes. These photos couldn't be more Joni - well, unless she had a cig in her hand!

& THEN IRIS APFEL ALONGSIDE TAVI... COULD THIS MONTH GET ANY BETTER?!

It's evident brands are revamping themselves as it's the start of 2015 and I was over the moon when Lisa Eldridge announced that she's the new global Creative Director at Lancôme, which bodes well as her husband was the Creative Director of British Vogue for almost two decades!

I'm so curious to see the brands development in the next year, as anything Lisa touches turns to gold! I also love that she took the time to reassure her Youtube subs that her channel isn't going to be compromised and will remain 100% sponser free. I've been watching her channel for just shy of five years and trust her advice implicitly!

How stunning does Lisa look in her official announcement portrait?!

As it's already Wednesday in Australia (I live in the UK), I thought I'd share a mini Wednesday Wishlist...

I saw this photo of Neelam Gill floating around Tumblr and NEED THIS COAT. The closest thing I can find is this Topshop beauty!

Is it just me or does Urban Outfitters always have the funkiest coffee table books? This pocket Dolly Parton - or Dolly Lama, if you will - wisdom book is right up my street.

"Figure out who you are, and then do it on purpose."

"It costs a lot of money to look this cheap!"

This encyclopedia of crystals also looks fascinating! My brother studied gemology for a while after completing his Goldsmith diploma, so I might get him this for his birthday (sorry if you're reading this Bill).

At the moment, UO have a pretty incredible sale on - not only are most items 70% off, but with the promo code 'TAKE25' there's a further 25% off!

My Spidey senses are going crazy and it's taking every ounce of strength to stick to my budget! This B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L bag is what dreams are made of...

Khaki isn't a colour I'd usually gravitate towards - whatsoever - but this Native Rose coat adorned with sequins is amazing. I was umming and ahhing whether to get it at £33 and by the time I decided yes... it was sold out.

The quote "nothing haunts us like the things we didn't buy"
has never been so true.

Speaking of Spidey senses, I was on Buzzfeed this morning and saw this article about a Parisian photographer's latest project 'Super Flemish'. The intricate details and practically identical models are amazing! I'm hoping in the next few weeks, an Etsy whizz will have these prints framed and for sale - here's the four I'd love in my office (as if I have an office)...

(Skip to Chewbacca in the article if you want to see what my hair looks like first thing in the morning!)

I'll love and leave you with this inspiring video of Ursula K. Le Guin that my 'writing short stories' lecturer recommended during a recent tutorial - if you've lost your writing mojo, this video is for you!

"We live in capitalism, its power seems inescapable -
but then, so did the divine right of kings."

(For any fellow luna-tics, here's a list of all the full moon dates of 2015!)

I'm going to go listen to Blue.
If you want me, I'll be at the bar...
